Gold River streets curve. All of them. None of them run in a grid, and we’ll admit our youngest brother has done a couple of laps around a village looking for the right house. Once we find you, though, Gold River Christmas light installation is some of the nicest work we do all year. Gold River borders Folsom on the east side, which makes it about the closest job we have outside our own town. Ring (916) 659-6549 and one of us will price it while you’re on the line.

Your village has rules, and we read them

There are 25 villages in Gold River. The Gold River Community Association sits over all of them, and each village keeps a smaller association of its own. So yes, we get the question: “Will the HOA care?” Holiday lights are temporary and we keep them clean, but it’s worth a glance at your village’s rules before we start. We’re happy to work around whatever they say.

    A few villages we’re in a lot:

    • Stanford Court. Gated townhomes built in the late 2000s. We light what’s yours to light, usually the front roofline, entry and a garland on the railing.
    • Promontory Point. Gated condos with smaller entries. A wreath and a strand of garland on the railing is usually the whole job.
    • Enterprise Village. Single-family homes, a lot of them owned by empty nesters who retired from the ladder years ago. Smart move.
    • Sutter Village. Tree-lined streets and well-kept homes. Plenty of trunks worth wrapping.
    • Mother Lode Village and Discovery Village, which we usually pair up on the same day since they’re both on our loop.

    Valley oaks and greenbelts

What makes Gold River different is the trees. The whole place was planned around big valley oaks and green belts that connect the back of one village to the next. Your yard might be small, but the oak at the corner of it probably isn’t.

Oaks wrap beautifully. The strands climb the trunk and run out the lower main limbs, keeping the wraps snug so they don’t slip in the wind. We don’t wrap anything on the common greenbelt without the association’s okay, but the trees in your own yard are yours to light.

Gold River Christmas lights on smaller lots

Most homes here went up in the eighties and early nineties, with lots on the modest side. That changes the plan a little. There’s less lawn for stake lighting, so the roof and the entry do more of the work. We’ll put roofline lights on the eaves, gutters, peaks and gables, wrap your porch pillars or columns, and set a short row of stakes along the front walk (clear of the sprinkler heads, always).

A lot of these houses have that California-Mediterranean look, and some have tile roofs. Tile gets its own clips that hook the tile edge or the gutter. Shingle roofs get clips that slide under the shingle. We never nail or staple anything into your house.

Lit wreaths look great over a garage or centered on a gable, and lit garland dresses up an archway or a front railing. If you want the full rundown on wreaths, our wreath hanging page covers sizes and placement.

What you don’t have to do

Most people hand off their Gold River Christmas light installation for one reason: no strand testing at the kitchen table and no hunt for the extension cord that’s always missing. We bring everything, put it on a timer so it runs itself every evening, and if a section goes out in December, a call to (916) 659-6549 brings one of us back to fix it. Nine times out of ten it’s one loose plug after a storm. The tenth time, something with teeth found the wire.

    When the new year comes

Once the new year rolls around, our trucks return in January and strip everything off the house. Nothing stays clipped to your gutters into spring, and nothing ends up in your garage. We’re in Rancho Cordova and Fair Oaks the same weeks, so the takedown schedule moves fast.

Ready to get on the list? Phone (916) 659-6549 or put your village name into the form on our contact page. Our Gold River dates are usually spoken for by early December, so the week before Thanksgiving is a good time to call.
