    Where Laguna Ridge is

Laguna Ridge is a 1,900-acre specific plan area in southwest Elk Grove, with Bruceville Road on its east edge. The city adopted the plan in June 2004, and the villages have built out since then, with new phases still under construction. Villages include McGeary Ranch, where lots run from about 5,000 to 9,800 square feet, and Poppy Meadows off Big Horn Boulevard. Homes are single-family, stucco, with concrete tile roofs, in single-story and two-story plans. Several villages have their own association. Check the association’s seasonal-decoration rule and we work inside that window.

Newer tract lots and what fits on them

Lots of 5,000 to 9,800 square feet put the house close to the street and close to the neighbors. The front elevation is where the lights go. The roofline is the main piece: C9 LED bulbs on commercial-grade line, clipped under the first tile course or on the gutter lip, cut to follow each gable and corner. A two-story plan takes two runs, one at each eave height. Garage gables and entry porches take their own short runs.

Yards are small and new. Street trees are young, so a full wrap to the tips is possible on most of them. Small shrubs take nets. A short front walk takes stake lights. Fence line lights along the side yard gate and the back fence add to a small lot without crowding it.

Power is an exterior outlet, usually in the garage bay or by the front door. A timer at the plug sets the hours. On a new house the outlets may be on a GFCI circuit shared with the garage, so we test the run before we leave.

    Color, timing and your quote

Warm white reads cleanly along the tile edge of a newer stucco home, and multicolor is available for the whole house or just the yard. A lit wreath in warm white on the garage or the door is a common add in Laguna Ridge.

Install dates run from early November into December. If a run fails mid-season, we fix it. We take the lights down in January and can hold them in storage for next year. Quotes are free. Send the address, the number of stories, the roof type and the parts you want lit, with a sidewalk photo, and most quotes come back without a visit. Call (916) 659-6549. Laguna Ridge is about 30 miles southwest of Folsom. The Elk Grove page covers the city. Stonelake is just north and Madeira is to the east.

    Common questions in Laguna Ridge

My village has an HOA. Does that change anything?
Only the dates. Check the association’s seasonal-decoration rule and we schedule the install and takedown inside it.

Our street trees are small. Can they still be wrapped?
Yes. A young tree takes a full wrap of the trunk and the limbs to the tips, which is the simplest wrap and shows well.

Is the house too new for clips?
No. Tile clips and gutter clips work on new roofs the same as on older ones and leave no marks.
