Christmas light installation for the gated custom estates on Shelborne Drive in Granite Bay.

Shelborne is a gated custom-home enclave in Granite Bay, near the Granite Bay Golf Club, Douglas Boulevard and Folsom Lake. The homes along Shelborne Drive date mostly from the mid-1980s, sit on lots of about an acre, and have been updated over the years with pools, sport courts and new roofs. A few homes have their own private gated entry inside the community gate. Because every house was built separately, rooflines, roof materials and garage placement all differ from one lot to the next.

• Roof material. A 1980s custom home may have its original roof or a newer one. Composition shingle, concrete tile, shake replaced with tile, and standing-seam metal each take a different clip. Tell us what is up there now.
• Gutter condition. C9 line clips to the gutter lip. Where an older gutter is loose or missing on a section, the clip goes on the shingle edge instead.
• Outlets. Many 1980s homes have one exterior outlet on the front. We plan the runs from that point and add a timer at the plug.
• Trees. Trees planted when the house was built are now large. A spiral wrap on the trunk and main limbs with a set strand count is the plan; we do not light the full canopy.

We need the community gate code or a guest entry for install day and for January takedown, and the driveway gate code if your home has one. Shelborne has an association; check its seasonal-decoration rule and give us the window.

Warm white and multicolor are both in stock. Warm white on the roofline with multicolor on one tree is the most frequent request in the older Granite Bay enclaves. If a run fails mid-season we repair it. Lights come down in January and we can store them until the next season.

Our roof is tile that replaced the original shake. Any issue?
No. The clip seats at the gutter lip and the eave tile. Nothing is drilled through the tile.

Can you light the pool house or a detached garage?
Yes. A detached building is quoted as its own run and needs an outlet nearby.

Is there anything you cannot clip to?
Line needs an edge: a gutter lip, a shingle edge or a tile edge. A roof with no gutter and no exposed edge is done with a different mount, which we flag in the quote.
