Christmas light installation in Foothill Farms, between Auburn Boulevard and Interstate 80.
Mid-1960s tracts off Auburn Boulevard
Foothill Farms was platted in units through the 1960s. The 1966 map for Foothill Farms Unit No. 9 covers what are now the Larchmont Foothills, Foothill Oaks and Foothill Terrace streets. The homes are single-story, three and four bedrooms, with low-pitched composition shingle roofs and a garage facing the street. Lots are small and the rooflines are short. Madison Avenue and Auburn Boulevard are the main streets, with Interstate 80 along the north edge.
What a Foothill Farms install looks like
A single-story ranch is a ground-and-short-ladder job. C9 LED bulbs clip to the gutter lip across the front, the garage gable and the side returns. Runs without a gutter get shingle-edge clips instead. The line is cut to each run so it sits straight along the eave. We plug into the garage or porch outlet and set a timer at the plug.
Additions most people ask for here: a wrapped front-yard tree where it covers the house, stake lights down the walk, lit shrubs under the windows and a warm-white pre-lit wreath on the door. Both warm white and multicolor bulbs are stocked. Corner lots can add fence line lights along the side street.
Everything goes up between early November and the end of December, comes down in January, and gets stored until next season. If a section stops working in the middle of the season, call and we come back to replace it.
Storefronts on Auburn Boulevard and Madison Avenue
The shops and offices along Auburn Boulevard and Madison Avenue get the same treatment as the houses: C9 bulbs on commercial-grade line along the storefront roofline and entry, trees in the parking lot wrapped where there are any, and a timer set so the lights run through business hours and into the evening.
Quotes without a visit
Send the address, the number of stories, the roof type and the parts you want lit, plus a photo from the sidewalk. Most quotes come back from that alone. Quotes are free. Christmas Light Brothers is based in Folsom, about 15 miles southeast by Madison Avenue, and Foothill Farms is on the same route as North Highlands and Citrus Heights. Common questions in Foothill Farms
Do I need to be home for the install?
No. We need access to the front yard and the exterior outlet. Everything else is outside.
My tree is bigger than my house. Can you just do the tree?
Yes. Tree-only wraps are common on these lots. Trunk and main limbs are wrapped in a spiral with a set number of strands per foot.
Does the timer need a special outlet?
No. It plugs into any standard exterior outlet and the lights plug into the timer.
