Twelve Bridges is a master-planned area of Lincoln along Twelve Bridges Drive. Taylor Morrison’s Arlington section is built out, Century Communities is selling the Millau and Rialto collections, and LGI Homes opened Velare in 2023 with two-story plans. Twelve Bridges Elementary, Middle and High School and the Lincoln Hills Town Center shops are inside or next to the community. Streets are laid out with cul-de-sacs and parks, and some lots sit on a rise with a view.

A two-story production home here usually has a front gable over the entry, an upper eave, and a lower eave over the garage. We light each as its own run of C9 LED bulbs on commercial-grade line clipped to the gutter lip. On a cul-de-sac lot the house is often angled, so the side eave visible from the street can be added. The line is cut to length for every run. Nothing hangs loose between peaks.

Front yards are new and the trees are small. A young tree takes two to four strands in a spiral. Shrubs along the walk take net lights. Stake lights along the driveway are a quick add and show well on a yard with no shade yet.

Some Twelve Bridges sections have an association and the newer Century sections are sold with none. If yours has one, check its seasonal-decoration rule and we work inside that window. If not, the schedule is the season: install early November through December, takedown in January.

Power is an exterior outlet with a timer at the plug. Most new homes have an outlet near the garage. We use that one and route the lead along the base of the wall.

Two bulb colors are offered: warm white and multicolor. Warm white suits the stucco fronts of the newer plans. Multicolor is brighter from the street. The two can be mixed, roofline in one and trees in the other.

Can you light a Velare two-story with a small yard?
Yes. The roofline is the main run; a small yard means fewer trees to wrap.

What if a strand goes out in December?
