A newer, gated, mostly single-story village
Saratoga Estates is a 122-acre gated community in El Dorado Hills built by Elliott Homes, with two community parks and walking trails. Most of the homes are recent, many from 2022 on, and a large share are single-story plans with tile roofs. Lots are compact, so homes sit close to the street and to each other, and the front elevation is mostly roofline and garage.
That makes Saratoga Estates one of the simpler neighborhoods in the area to light well. A single-story tile roof with one or two front gables is a short ladder job with a clean result.
Tile roofs and clips
On a tile roof the C9 LED line is clipped at the gutter lip and the leading edge of the eave tile. Nothing is screwed into or glued to the tile. Each run is cut to the actual roofline so the bulbs sit in a straight line along the eave and follow each gable to the peak. The garage eave is lit on the same run or left dark, your choice.
The outlet by the garage or front door supplies power. A timer at the plug turns the lights on at dusk and off at a set hour, so nothing runs all night.
Young trees, short driveways, close neighbors
Trees here are young. A trunk wrap in a spiral with a set strand count looks right on a small ornamental tree and does not overload it. Stake lights along a short driveway or the front walk fill the yard without crowding it. Low shrubs along the foundation take strand lights.
Because the homes are close together, a plan that fits the street works and one that clashes shows. Warm white is the most common choice in Saratoga Estates. Multicolor on the roof is available. A mix, warm white roofline with a multicolor tree, is a common middle ground.
