Four Seasons at El Dorado Hills is a gated 55-and-over community of 460 single-family homes built by K. Hovnanian between 2004 and 2009. Homes run from about 1,389 to 3,245 square feet, and many plans are single-story with a courtyard or a front den. The association maintains front-yard landscaping, gates, roads and common areas. The Lodge, a 12,500-square-foot clubhouse, is the center of the community, and El Dorado Hills Town Center is a short drive.

Most Four Seasons homes have one story and a front elevation made of the entry, one or two gables and the garage. The C9 LED line is clipped to the gutter lip along the eave and follows each gable to its peak. Runs are cut to the roofline on site. On tile the clip seats at the gutter and the eave tile; nothing goes through the tile. The install is done from a short ladder and takes less time than a two-story home.

Power comes from the outlet by the garage or front door. We set a timer at the plug so the lights come on at dusk and switch off at the time you pick. You do not need to touch anything for the rest of the season.

Front courtyards are common here. A low courtyard wall or a courtyard gate can be lit with the same line. Front-yard trees are small ornamentals that take a spiral wrap of a few strands. Stake lights along the front walk and the driveway edge are the most-requested add in Four Seasons. Shrubs by the entry take strand lights.

Warm white is the most common pick in the neighborhood. Multicolor is available, on the roof or on a tree, and the two can be combined.

We need a gate entry for the install day and for the January takedown; most owners call the gate or add us to the guest list. Four Seasons has an association. Check its seasonal-decoration rule and tell us the dates, and we will work inside that window.

If any run stops working during the season, we fix it. After takedown we can keep your lights until next year. Can the lights come on and off without me doing anything?
Yes. A timer at the plug handles it. We set the on time to dusk and the off time to what you choose.

Do I need to be home for the install?
No, as long as the gate entry is arranged and the outlet is reachable. Many owners are out when we install.

Will you take them down and keep them?
Yes. Takedown is in January and storage until next season is available.
