Some weeks in Rancho Cordova it feels like the street we’re lighting didn’t exist last Christmas. The builders keep going and the new two-stories keep getting taller. Your garage ladder doesn’t. Rancho Cordova Christmas light installation is a big chunk of our season, and our crew of brothers drives in from Folsom most days anyway. One call to (916) 659-6549 gets you a number.

Garage-front two-stories in Anatolia and Kavala Ranch

Anatolia is full of two-story homes with steep front gables and a garage door right up front. They look great with a crisp roofline and a lit wreath centered over the garage. Most of these streets sit under an HOA, so we keep it tidy, symmetrical and off the sidewalk.

Kavala Ranch and Montelena are newer still, and a lot of those homes come with small front yards and big rooflines. That combination means the roof does most of the talking. A few stakes along the walk, a garland on the entry, and you’re done. Rio Del Oro, out past Sunrise Boulevard, is going up so fast we sometimes light one side of a street while framers work on the other.

    Tile roofs and tall peaks

Plenty of newer builds around here have concrete tile roofs instead of composition shingle. Tile needs a different clip. We use ones that hook the lip of the tile or grab the gutter, never anything that pries tiles up or drills into them. On shingle roofs, the clips slide under the shingle edge. Either way, no staples and no nails.

Second-story peaks are where most people give up and call us. Fair enough. We have the ladders and we’re up there every day.

Rio Del Oro and the newest Montelena streets bring one more wrinkle: solar. On a new-build Rancho Cordova Christmas light installation we keep every clip and cord off the panels and their wiring, and run the roofline along the gutter and the gable edges instead. New houses also tend to have an outdoor outlet by the garage, which makes the power plan short.

How a Rancho Cordova Christmas light job runs

    • You phone (916) 659-6549, describe the house and its peaks, and get a quote on the spot.
    • Our truck brings every strand, clip, wreath and extension cord. You don’t buy a thing.
    • The upper roofline goes first, peak by peak, then the short eave above the garage door. Porch pillars get wrapped, young trees get a light trunk wrap if they can take it, and stakes line the walk clear of the sprinkler heads.
    • Lit garland goes on the entry or stair rail, and the lit wreath goes where it shows from the street, usually centered over the garage.
    • We set a timer so it all turns on and off without you thinking about it.
    • If something goes out mid-season, call and we’ll fix it.
    • In January we come back, take it all down, and haul it away.

Townhomes and the rest of town

Capital Village, up by Zinfandel and International Drive, is mostly townhomes on narrow streets. For townhomes we sort out what’s yours to light before we start, since the HOA decides where the shared roof begins. We light the older ranch streets up toward the river too, but most of our Rancho Cordova days are spent on the new side of Sunrise.

If you’ve seen our residential light installation work in Folsom or over in Gold River, it’s the same crew and the same approach here.

Book it before December gets busy

A December Saturday on a two-story roof with a box of half-dead strands is nobody’s idea of fun. Our crew is working Gold River, Folsom and Mather all season, so we’re rarely far.

Our calendar fills up once Thanksgiving hits. Phone (916) 659-6549, or put the name of your tract in the contact form. We’ll know the roof before we get there.
