By the time we get to your street, forty years of shade trees have emptied themselves into the gutters. We know because our clips go on those gutters. Leaves and all, Willow Creek Estates Christmas light installation is some of our favorite work in Folsom: older houses, real trees, room to breathe between neighbors.

    No association, no permission slip

There’s no HOA in Willow Creek Estates. Not in the South section, and none that we could find in the East section. Neighbors organize things themselves, mostly through a Facebook page. So there’s no approved window and no form to file. You choose the date. You choose the colors. We climb.

The only schedule we hold you to is ours: lights come down in January.

    Trees first

Building started here in the early 1980s, and the shade trees on these streets have had every year since to fill out. That’s the thing newer parts of town can’t buy.

A mature trunk takes a tree wrap beautifully. We wind the trunk tight and even, then follow the main limbs out as far as a ladder safely allows. A big canopy overhead with a lit trunk underneath does more for a front yard than anything on the roof. Ties are snug, never cinched, and every strand comes off after the holidays.

About those gutters. If they’re packed with leaves, clips don’t seat right. A quick cleanout before install day helps us and helps your downspouts. Not sure how bad they are? Call (916) 659-6549 and describe what you see from the ground.

    Then the house

This neighborhood is a mix of production homes and customs from several builders, so we don’t assume anything about your roof. Send a photo. Low single-story with a long eave? We run roofline lights straight across and make it crisp. Custom with a pile of peaks? We pick the ones that face the street.

Lots here run large. A house sitting well back from the curb needs its lighting to carry, so we lean on the driveway and the walk. Stake lighting along both edges draws the eye up to the door. We keep stakes clear of sprinkler heads, since older irrigation doesn’t love surprises. Details are on our stake lighting page.

At the entry we add pillar wraps on whatever posts hold up the porch, a lit wreath, and lit garland run across the doorway or down a rail. On timers, of course.

Some homes up here look out over the valley or toward the foothills. We’ll light the high peaks so the house shows from below.

We also work in Lexington Hills right beside you and everywhere else in Folsom.

Willow Creek Estates Christmas light installation, the easy way

Everything is quoted on a call to (916) 659-6549 or from photos. The contact page takes pictures if you’d rather send them that way. The lights are ours, the clips are ours (never nails or staples), and the January takedown is ours too. You never open a storage bin. If a strand quits before then, (916) 659-6549 again.

We’re a family crew and Folsom is home. Jobs near BT Collins Park, Ed Mitchell Park and Folsom Hills Elementary School are a regular part of our November. If your back fence faces the Humbug-Willow Creek trail, ask about lighting the rear eave for the walkers. They’ve earned it, hauling themselves out there in December.

What Willow Creek Estates neighbors ask us

Does Willow Creek Estates in Folsom have an HOA?

No. The South section has no homeowners association and we found none for the East section either, so no rule sets when Christmas lights can go up. Listings in the East section are marketed as no HOA as well.

Do my gutters need to be cleaned before you hang lights?

It helps. With this many mature shade trees, gutters fill up by late fall, and clips sit better on a clear gutter lip. If they’re only lightly littered we can work with it.

My house sits far back from the street. Is the roofline enough to show from the road?

Sometimes it isn’t. On the larger lots here we usually suggest adding stake lighting along the driveway or a wrapped tree near the curb so the display shows from the road.

My back fence faces the Humbug-Willow Creek trail. Can the rear eave be lit?

Yes. We clip the back eave the same way as the front and put it on the same timer, so the walkers get a show and you don’t think about it.
